The rainy season is approaching ☔️My hair is kinky, so the rainy season is going to be the worst 😂But don’t let the humidity stop you! I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not, but it’s a good thing. The Cat’s Return becomes a reality in Amakusa!
The Cat Island exists!
“Yushima” (Cat Island)
Yushima is an island in Oyano-cho, Kamitakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Located almost in the middle of Ariake Sea, it is a remote island where cats live leisurely. It is also called “Dango-shima” (Conference Island) because the revolts of Amakusa and Shimabara had a strategic meeting there. On this remote island “Yushima”, there are more cats than people🐈
There is a regular boat service to the Cat Island, and the boat ride there gives you the feeling that you’ve wandered into the world of Ghibli, doesn’t it? That’s what I found out when I was there! There doesn’t seem to be any tourist attractions on Yushima, and the main attraction of this island is that it’s really a “cat island” as the name suggests, with more cats living there than people🐈⬛!
If you like cats, you’ll love this island, where the cats are all very friendly. Some of the cats will even come to you on their own 🐱💕Once you’re on Yushima, you’ll find a map of the cat island, complete with its origins and legends, so you’re sure to have fun! I’m sure you’ll be able to find something to suit your needs.
Another attraction is that there are only two eateries on this tiny island! It’s rare to find only two ministries where you can enjoy the delicious Amakusa seafood! It’s a wonderful spot only a small remote island can offer. Please, when you come to Kumamoto, isn’t it nice to spend some time relaxing with cats? 😌💕For those who love photography, this is a great place to visit 🐈⬛You might find your favourite cat here? 😍
